THE BISHOP'S WIFE

Post by Oldlioness »

In our house, THE BISHOP'S WIFE is a holiday tradition. Not to be confused with the remake, A PREACHER'S WIFE, this film is a true time capsule and a must-see every year.

Cary Grant, Loretta Young, Monty Wooley, David Niven, Elsa Lanchester in a lesser but amusing role, it's just one of the best Christmas movies of all time. You can read more about it here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bishop%27s_Wife

Great still, Maria, thanks for sharing. And look at all of those lovely "icicles"! You'll never guess what they made them from in those days. :-)

That's a great movie Maria, we watch it at least twice every year, along with Holiday Inn, White Christmas, Christmas in Connecticut, It happened on 5th Avenue, Miracle on 34th Street and of course It's A Wonderful Life. 'The Apartment' with Fred MacMurray, Shirley Macleane and Jack Lemmon from 1960 is another good one since it takes place mostly between Christmas and New Years.
I still use Lead tinsel Paul, it's a pain and takes forever to hang but you can't beat the look.
