Collectible Tabletop TreesIn late 2004, we showed the first "Thomas Kinkade Artificial Tabletop Village Christmas Tree" on one of our web sites, and it became an instant best-seller. The tree was so successful that Collectibles Today has gone on to commission several more from their designers, especially from the world-known "Painter of Light" Thomas Kinkade. What is a Tabletop Tree? Most North Americans are surprised to learn that before 1860, most Christmas trees in most homes were only two or so feet tall, and that they sat on tables. Today tabletop trees are occasionally used by people who have a full-sized tree elsewhere but want to bring Christmas charm to a particular corner or room. But they are even more useful for people who are "downsizing," or who no longer feel it is necessary to set up a seven-foot tree with hundreds of ornaments. Tens of thousands of people have chosen to replace "quantity" with the quality and unique charm of these trees. The trees shown on this page are hand-painted, illuminated, ceramic collector's items. Their bases are small enough to fit just about anywhere, but at 15"-16" tall, each tree make a nice showing on a coffeetable or as a dining table centerpiece. With their carefully-detailed sculptures, intricate painting, and delicate lighting, they are sure to draw interest wherever they are placed in your home. Note: For this page, I have chosen to use many of the illustrations and product descriptions that are provided by the manufacturer rather than writing a separate review of each tree. The main reason for this choice has to do with the fact that these are selling so fast that I don't always have time to write a review before the tree has gone out of stock. If you have a specific question about any tree on this page, please contact us.
In the meantime, whether you're reading this a week or eleven months before Christmas, please have a great family Christmas this year, and let us know what we can do to help. Paul and Shelia Race To return to the Family Christmas Online™ Home Page, click here.
