Family Christmas Recipies - from Family Christmas OnlineTMThis page will contain links to instructions for making traditional and contemporary Christmas treats and meals. We plan to focus, at least at first, with our family's favorite recipies that we actually use. So we won't be listing 47 different varieties of some casserole or another, just telling you what we know works for our families and friends. In addition we plan to provide other information to help you make each project a success, even if you feel like you're all thumbs in the kitchen. This will take us longer than transcribing words like tbsp and tsp and assuming that you can "fill in the gaps" that many recipe books fail to explain. But we hope you will find our recipies, hints, and instructions worth waiting for. We started out by describing how to make our favorite Christmas cookie recipe, the Best Traditional Cutout Sugar Cookies. We have added a Traditional Shortbread recipe that includes many photos and hints for helping first-time shortbread bakers with this tasty treat. New for 2008, we've added a fun and tasty cookie treat that almost anybody can make, Grandma Race's Peanut-Butter Cracker Cookies, as made by our daughter, Emily Race. We also have what might possibly be the Internet's most comprehensive and user-friendly article on How to Roast a Turkey And we've included an accompanying article on How to Make Reduced-Fat Turkey Gravy If a turkey seems to be overkill, consider our kids' holiday favorite, Ham Loaf. In October, 2007, we added three of our family's favorite salad recipes:
In the Beverage department, we have a new favorite, Cappuccino Punch, a sweet treat with a bit of a kick.
We have several other recipes in the works, so check back. :-) And contact us with any questions or suggestions you have in the meantime. Paul and Shelia Race To return to the Family Christmas OnlineTM Home Page, click here.
